GREYTOWN GIN WINS NEW ZEALAND DISTILLERY OF THE YEAR IN SINGAPORE

With a year of record-breaking growth in progress, Greytown’s Distillery has picked up a slew of medals in one of the world’s most important spirits markets, announced earlier this month.
“We haven’t previously entered the awards in this market, but as we explore exporting, it made sense to test how we fared with the Asia International Spirits Awards in Singapore, as the centre of the awards for all of Asia”, explains Adam Blackwell, Co-founder of Greytown Distilling Company. “Their trade-only judging panellists work with spirits and their customers on a daily basis. They are a mix of restauranteurs, sommeliers, retail spirits buyers, distributors and importers. So we know we were being judged by people who can have a direct impact on our sales and growth in this region.”
On Friday 5 September, Greytown Distilling Company was notified that it had received medals for every single gin it had entered into the 2025 awards, including:
· Bronze for Beekeeper Premium Gin, released October 2024
· Silver for Frostbite Premium Gin, released May 2024
· Gold for Settler London Dry, released November 2022
· Double Gold (highest possible award) for Tweed Premium Gin, released November 2022
“Oh, and due to our overall success, we also picked up a medal for New Zealand Distillery of the Year 2025,” confirms Adam. “This is an amazing recognition that we really weren’t expecting and says a lot about how we are now recognised in the world market, even though we are still less than three years old. Peter Warren, our master distiller, is a local super hero and we are grateful to have him on the team.”
Greytown Distilling Company has recently moved its production facility into a huge building at the south end of Greytown as it prepares for ongoing expansion. The company has an aggressive growth ambition as it releases four brand new gins in the next three months and is scheduled to launch a brand new whiskey collection in Autumn 2026.
