ORCHARD GROVE GINS CELEBRATE OUR BACKYARD FRUIT TREES

Greytown Distilling Company has released its much-anticipated summer selection of gins, paying tribute to the large and pocket sized orchards many Greytown properties have tucked away in their back yards.

“When we talk to people at the Crop Up Saturday morning market, it seems that many locals grow lemons, limes and all sorts of pip fruit, even on very small sections,” explains Adam Blackwell, GDC Co-founder. “So we wanted to release a series of gins that not only acknowledge that lovely aspect of Greytown’s homesteads, but also utilises a lot of the fruits we grow and plants that can be found nearby.”

Released in signature 750ml and 375ml stainless steel flasks on 1 November, the Orchard Grove selection includes three brand new gins: Mānuka and Lemon, Horopito and Lime Dry and Pears of Paradise.

“It’s going to be hard to choose a favourite this year,” says Adam. “Lemons and limes are always popular in gin flavours but our Pears of Paradise is a lovely subtle gin that can be enjoyed sipped neat over ice. The others are great with tonics or make amazing martinis.”

These new gins are all available in individual flasks starting at $49.90, right up to a special gift pack of three for $149.90. They of course make excellent adult Christmas presents and special Christmas GDC gift boxes are available to pop individual flasks in for secret Santa gifting. Available from the GDC Tasting Shed inside Blackwell and Sons, open seven days 10am to 4pm.
